Frequently Asked

Do I need Medigap (Medicare Supplement)?

No. TFL already serves the role Medigap is designed to play. Adding Medigap would be paying for coverage you already have.

No. TFL is your supplement.

Medigap (Medicare Supplement Insurance) is sold by private insurers to fill the gaps in Original Medicare — deductibles, coinsurance, copays. Those are the exact gaps TFL already wraps around.

Buying Medigap on top of TFL means:

  • Paying a second monthly premium for redundant coverage.
  • Coordination of benefits gets murky with three payers (Medicare, Medigap, TFL).
  • No additional benefits in 99% of scenarios.

The decision tree is simple:

  • Stay on Original Medicare + TFL — no supplement needed.
  • Or switch to a Medicare Advantage plan — TFL becomes secondary to the MA plan; still no supplement needed.

Either path, Medigap is unnecessary for TFL beneficiaries.
